Day 01 Lima

Arrival to Lima, reception and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Lima.Meals: none

Day 02 Lima – Sanctuary of Pachacamac – City Tour Colonial & Modern Lima

Sanctuary of PachacamacIn the morning we are going to visit the Sanctuary of Pachacamac, one of the largest and most important archaeological sites in Peru, in ancient times it was the most consulted oracle by the Andean world, it was built alongside the Lurin river and next to the Pacific Ocean, in this sacred and ceremonial place reached thousands of pilgrims converged to pay tribute and consult about the past and the future. We will appreciate platforms, buildings, pyramidal temples built by pre-Colombian cultures. Next to the excursion we will go to a restaurant for a delicious lunch. We continue our excursion to Lima downtown with a panoramic sightseeing to appreciate Grau Square, the Art Museum of Lima, the Italian Art Museum, Justice Palace, San Martin Square, Bolívar Traditional Hotel, the Main Square or “Mayor Square” and finally we will visit San Francisco Convent to discover the mystery of its catacombs. We will end the excursion with a visit to the residential district of San Isidro and an unforgettable view of the Pacific Ocean from the district of Miraflores. Return to the hotel. Day 03 Lima – Arequipa – City Tour

Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Arequipa. At your arrival reception and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon we visit Arequipa downtown, also known as the “White City” named thus for its architectural ashlar stone buildings. We will pass by the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Church of the Company. Next we´ll have a nice excursion inside the Convent of Santa Catalina, built in the sixteenth century. It was made by cloisters, cells, sources of ashlar with gardens and narrow streets, it was opened to the public in 1970. Return to the hotel. Accommodation in Arequipa.Meals: breakfast

Day 04 Arequipa / Colca Canyon

Arequipa Colca CanyonDeparture from Arequipa towards the town of Yura, pass by the slopes of the Chachani volcano, Pampa Arrieros, National Reserve of Pampa Cañahuas where we can appreciate the “vicuña” a native Peruvian animal; the wood of this specimen is highly valued in the international market, We will continue along Viscachani village, Pampas de Troca where a variety of birds can be seen. We continue bordering the Chucura crater to reach Patapampa (4,800 m.a.s.l) and we arrive into a viewpoint of los Andes where you can see the volcanoes surrounding the city of Arequipa, then we descend to the town of Chivay. In the afternoon we go to the hot springs of La Calera. Accommodation in Colca.Meals: breakfast and lunch

Day 05 Colca Canyon / Puno

Very early in the morning we will go to Cruz del Condor (60 km from Chivay) where we can observe one of the most spectacular scenery of the canyon: the condors in majestic flight. From this point the valley narrows significantly giving rise to one of the deepest canyons in the world. We return visiting archaeological remains, pre Inca agricultural terraces and other panoramic views of the Colca Canyon. We will pass through the villages of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque, Antahuilque and Choquetico viewpoints.
We stop in Chivay to take lunch and continue the route of Patapampa (4800 m.a.s.l) on the way we can see in a short distance the Chucura and Huarancote volcanoes, and in a long distance we can appreciate the Ubinas, Misti, Chachani, Ampato, Sabancaya and Hualca Hualca. We will continue along Pampas de Troca where a variety of birds can be seen. Return to Chivay and departure to Puno. Arrival, assistance and transfer to the hotel. Day 06 Puno – Titicaca Lake

Puno Titicaca LakeAt according time we will start our lakeside guided tour to the highest lake in the world the “Titicaca Lake” (3810 masl), located in the Altiplano, we will visit the Uros Islands using small boats, this ethnic family lives in floating islands of totora reeds. We continue to Taquile island (4040 m.a.s.l) where we will discover one of the most beautiful andean places with plenty of hills and archaeological sites, weaving is the main activity and garments made with high technical fabric designs shows their daily lives. Return to Puno in the afternoon. Accommodation in Puno.Meals: breakfast and lunch

Day 07 Puno / Cusco

Transfer from the Hotel to the Bus Station to board the tourist bus to Cusco, on the road we will know attractions like the people of Pukara, we will have a guided museum site appreciating archaeological remains of the highland Andean cultures and then we depart to La Raya, the highest point of the route (4335 m.a.s.l), we will spend about 10 minutes to make photos and continue the journey with a stop for lunch in Sichuan. After lunch we will visit the archaeological center of Raqchi, an impressive building made to the Wiracocha God.We end the trip in Andahuaylillas village where we will visit the Church of San Pedro, also known as the Sistine Chapel of America. Arrival to Cusco and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.Meals: breakfast and lunch

Day 08 Cusco – City Tour & Sacsayhuaman Archeological Park

Sacsayhuaman Archeological ParkFree morning to make personal activities. In the afternoon we will visit the Imperial City of the Incas: The Archeological Capital of America and also called the “navel” of the world, Cusco. At according time, pick up from the hotel to start our excursion to the city; we will walk toward main streets and squares, we could appreciate colonial houses and palaces, we will visit the Korikancha Palace, Santo Domingo Convent and the Cathedral. After this amazing experience we will go away from the city to visit four archeological sites: Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park , an impressive fortress of colossal dimensions; Qenqo Ceremonial Center; Tambomachay and its sacred fountains of life; and Puca Pucará viewpoint and watchtower which guarded the city entrance. Day 09 Cusco – Sacred Valley of the Icas – Cusco

At according time we will start our excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas located on the banks of Vilcanota river. We will have a panoramic sightseeing of Pisac Archeological Complex and next we will drive to the town where we can appreciate in the main square a colorful market full of crafts such as ceramics, textile art and personal accessories made by its inhabitants. Also, we will appreciate food of native farmers. After lunch we will continue our excursion to the enigmatic fortress of Ollantaytambo, citadel built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect invasions of forest dwellers. Day 10 Cusco – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Aguas CalientesAt according time transfer to the Railway Station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, immediately we will board the bus to go up the winding road to one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World chosen by the NOWC* organization “The Sanctuary of Machu Picchu” located amid mountains and flanked by steep deep canyon formed by the Urubamba river, you will have a guided tour of the citadel where we can see three sectors; in the first you are able to observe the sacred district, in the second you can see the quarter of the priests nobles and the residential area, in the third sector you will appreciate the popular neighborhood located in the south of the citadel among other architectural attractions. Finishing this wonderful experience we descend to Aguas Calientes to board again the train to return to Cusco, you will be driven to the hotel. Accommodation in Cusco.Meals: breakfast

Day 11 Cusco / Puerto Maldonado

According to María Reiche, whom dedicate her live to study this lines, this will be the biggest Astronomical Calendar of the world. This calendar is represented by several insects and animals like a monkey, hummingbird, condor or a spider, their dimensions could reach up 300 meters. Finishing the overflight, transfer to the Station to take the bus back to Lima.Meal: none
