First, you’ll start the tour into the South Valley of Cusco. Arrive to Quispicanchis to visit the impressive archeological complex of Tipón, important religious center devoted to the cult of the water, one of the 4 natural elements considered sacred in the Andean region because it circulates in canals and irrigates the terraces on the mountains. Here you participate in one of the most important Andean religious rituals:

The offering to Mother Earth: In the Andes, we have an Offering Ceremony to the Earth. Some of us call it “payment” or reciprocity with our Mother Earth who gives us life.
During that offering ceremony, prayers are for the health of whoever asks for them.
In Andean “cosmovision”, everything that surrounds us is alive and we consider that offsets of balance frequently occur within our lives. These offerings are prepared by initiated people like the Andean Priests or Healers. After this ceremony you’ll be transferred to a home to experiment the following ritual:

the coca leaf readingThe Coca Leaf Reading: Our customs and traditions consider that coca is a sacred seed that belongs to the plant kingdom and It has been created by Mother Earth to guide and heal. During this experience, you will be invited to sit with the shaman in a circle with your fellow travelers or, if you prefer you alone. You will be welcomed, then asked for your name and reasons for visiting. A prayer is offered to the god of the mountains, or “Apus”. It’s a prayer of protection and a sign of respect. After 3 leaves have been blown toward the god, he’ll lay out a handful of leaves on the blanket in front of you. You’ll have the opportunity to ask about important matters, such as family, friends, work and health.

Maybe you’ll learn a little bit about the future, but definitely you’ll learn about the local traditions and culture of this truly special place. Retun to Cusco. Afternoon at leisure. Accommodation in Cusco.
